When I was a little girl, I dreamed of being an actress or a famous singer. In middle school, I wanted to be President. By high school, I was sure I’d become a lawyer. After college, I became an elementary school teacher of all things! What I never really expected to become was an activist. How did I get here? More on that later.
Chances are, you’re reading this because you found my eBook or you heard me on a podcast or someone shared a video I made with you. However you got here, you want to understand better how to win in the political arena. You’ve sat around long enough wondering “When is someone just going to stand UP to this tyranny?” and you just have no idea where to begin. You’re in the right place.
My name is Ali and I’ve been an activist since 2015. I was exactly where you might be right now – a passionate underdog for a cause that seems hopeless. Then something happened to you to make you realize that you simply cannot stay silent, but you’re sick of just arguing on social media about the demise of the culture or our government. You’re not convincing anybody anyway! How can you do instead of just be. I was there, until the summer of 2015 when something happened that made me realize it was folks like me, sitting on the sidelines, that were insuring nothing ever changed in my community.
Welcome to The Activist Academy!
I wasn’t born an activist, I became one. I started attending community meetings for the cause I cared about and at first became more frustrated than ever. My fellow attendees seemed nice, but all of their ideas and tactics seemed dated. I thought, “Obviously they are ineffective if these same tactics have been employed for decades without moving the needle one bit.” Right or wrong about my first impressions, I was not content to become more complacent and passive. I started thinking about what the movement I joined needed most and I just started making it happen.
Since that summer, I have hosted conferences, rallies, petition-drives, visited legislators, testified at hearings, worked to defeat legislation, labored to pass legislation, motivated a constituency, challenged our local government in a court of law, and so much more. In the last several years I have helped pass or defeat almost twenty state and local measures as a right-leaning libertarian in a deeply blue area. I’m not content with my success for my community because I fundamentally believe that if I can do it, you can do it, too. I’ve mastered the principles of successful grassroots campaigns and I’m teaching you to replicate my tactics.
I’m on a mission to create 500 Alis. I want to tell you my story so that it can teach you to lessons I’ve learned fast, easier, and with better results. Imagine a world of smart, strategic advocates who know how to achieve success within the system and without having to win elections. Your community needs leaders. Are you up for the challenge?
